Breeding Season

Yeah, they're in our bathtub, in the master bath. The tower of canaries!

It's like a disease- I can't wait for babies! Last year I started much smaller and ended up with four babies- four died. Not to bad, but this year I'm hoping for more. I am missing a robust male, however. My boys are either too young or not quite amorous enough so it may be no babies- we shall see. Not to worry- I'll keep you posted.

Wow I thought I had a handful with 1 Hubby, 1 child, 2 cats and a budgie!! I love my budgie, well except when he squawks and wakes up the baby, but I can't imagine cleaning all those cages. How long does it take you each day to maintain them?

Bacchus- It's not bad really. Fresh water daily, seed every other, greens daily, bath daily. Clean out the bottom every week- it's a big tray full of newspaper. It's when they have the babies that it gets a bit more intensive- but I love it. It's a fun hobby for me. Crazy, I know.

Normally they live in a large outdoor cage- way easy. The fantasy (one of the many) is to have an aviary built, which would even be easier.

Ok, now that looks like a lot of work! I'll use the hall bathroom when I'm over so I don't need the epi-pen! I want to meet the babies when they hatch! :)
